Sarahs “friends”: Part Three - Tom Bale.

Tom is by far my favourite of Sarahs friends, its almost as if he was created just for me. From the age of 11, Tom and Sarah (along with Seth who I will get to later) have been best friends, sharing a common passion for surfing.

Tom is a brother with soul. A dreadlocked father of two and professional surf photographer for Ripcurl. His eldest son Tosh is 5, very cute and loves Sarah very much, calling her Nom, his ‘nother mother. Last year his second son was born and Tom named him Jonathan Marley, after a dude that Sarah had a rather unusual relationship with.

Heres a picture of Jonathan Marley and his Mom that Tom posted on Twitter just after he was born:

(ok, so someone else is taking the credit for that photo, and claiming it was taken in 2009, perhaps Tom was just tired after the drama of childbirth….)

You can read a bit more about the birth of Jonathan Marley in Rachels blog from last year:

Tom is always there when Sarah is in need, and would always reach out to me to help. I once spoke to Tom on the phone, or at least that was the plan. Sarah does female voices on the phone very well, but sucks at male voices so that was pretty weird.

Toms still on Twitter if you want to check him out:

but hes not said much since Rachels post. Or if you want you could try to email him on tbale79@gmail.com, if you get a response I would love to know how hes doing.

UPDATE.
Someone contacted me to say it was not cool to stick some dudes email address up like that. I had thought my tone was obvious, but clearly not, so to be clear… Tom, and the rest of Sarahs mates that I have described on this blog do not exist. Clearly the photos are of some real person, but the characters portrayed are not real. The email address above is one that Sarah setup, and months after my interactions with him, Sarah admitted it was her. She did not need to because I had traced the IP address.
